The Roof At The Durham

Somewhat typical of hotel dining rooms. Almost empty, so the service staff had no challenge. Waiter was great. Very nice wine list, and fine offerings of liquor. Not the same for the menu, however. Very limited in choices for dinner, but okay if your looking for something just to go with drinks. My wife had the chicken with a garlic sauce. That was great. My chop was fatty and over-seasoned.

Fantastic, unusual, fresh food. Best waitress ever- she was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. A little noisy, but it was Sat night and a wedding in house. Loved it!

Very beautiful surroundings inside. The waiter although knowledgeable about food and wine was not very warm. Never smiled as if he were glad to see us. The food was timely and excellent in presentation and taste. We had five in our party whose birthday was one of them. I had put that on open table, but this fact was not mentioned by the waiter. If he asked if this was a special occasion, maybe he would discover that. I would look at other options in the downtown region if I was to eat around there.

Everything was great--food, wine, service, ambiance, noise level. We love The Durham. It's the best restaurant in Durham.

We had such a great experience at the Durham Hotel for dinner! We all ordered the airmail mixed drink and loved it. It was exactly what we wanted. Two of us ordered the dry aged burger which came with fries and one ordered the spring cassoulet. All of the food was super delicious and the service was friendly and fast. Will be back!
