We just went for a wake after a funeral, they provided a lovely spread of sandwiches sausage rolls and cakes.
Stopped here on business. Nice big car park to the rear next to the train station, which is free for guests. Fairly steep steps to navigate from the car park so if you have heavy bags you might need to ask for help. The bar area/lounge is very tired and not inviting, whilst the downstairs Bistro is fabulous! Really nicely decorated, and the service and food where both at an excellent level. The bedroom was a tail of two halves as well. The actual bedroom was quite nice, whilst the bathroom really was down on its heels. Breakfast was a little slow had to ask for coffee and just took to long to get going.....need to be swift in a morning people have things to do. Smoked haddock was tiny and came with a very small poached egg, two eggs would have been better.
Located just outside of the railway station. This quaint hotel has great service and small town charm. We need a week's worth of clothes cleaned on a Saturday and the staff contacted their service and got the job done. Early check-in was not a problem. Clean room with all the necessities.
I was heading out on a trip and decided to play it safe by paying for parking at a hotel near the train station. However, the woman at the front desk was rather unfriendly. I paid for parking as a visitor, and my friend had asked if we could have tea and coffee before our departure. Everything seemed fine until she went to grab our drinks, and the woman at the front desk made a comment implying that we should be purchasing something if we were going to use the facilities. We had already paid for parking, so we could have just left it at that. I don't often need to park at the train station, but I will definitely think twice before giving them my business again.
