The Red Barrel - Dubbo

Visit the Red Barrel for drinks on a Friday night and returned to breakfast on Sunday morning. My family lived the fact that they supported native farmers, delivered farm eggs, pork and milk. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the coffee was great and food delicious. We sat on the balcony and observed birds in the tree, great atmosphere.

Served an opened drink, not of my choosing, after original choice not available. Pizza base burnt to uneadible quality. Waitress made aware, and stated it was the fault of the oven. At time of paying, no offers of any discounts on the above experience .

We experienced an unexpectedly long wait, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. It took over 45 minutes for our bruschetta pizza to arrive and 50 minutes for a pasta dish. It seemed like the pizza oven could only handle one pizza at a time, as they were delivered one by one, and we were just a party of two. A nearby table of eight also experienced delays, receiving their food in small portions throughout the evening. When the pizza finally arrived, it was disappointingly hard—essentially like a cracker topped with tomato and onion. The pasta lacked flavor as well. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience for a night out in Dubbo.

Food was ok but ordered what was listed in the menu as a $12 mezze plate which turned out to actually be $30 when I paid the bill. Pointed this out to the waitress who didn't seem phased and still charged the full amount. Fair to say that we wouldn't have ordered it if we had known at two and a half times the price.

I recently visited a new wine lounge in Dubbo, and I was really impressed! They have an excellent selection of wines, and the cheese board was outstanding. The wood-fired pizzas were absolutely delicious—the dough was light and crispy, and the toppings were perfect. This place is definitely worth a visit!
