Earlier in the day, we were served by a much friendlier employee with long dark hair, and we had no issues at all. This contrast leads me to suspect that the bartender's behavior might have had underlying racial motivations. I would like to speak to a manager about this experience, but I haven’t been able to reach anyone by phone. I’m 21 years old and not someone who makes a fuss for no reason; I just wanted to enjoy some drinks. Instead, I faced rudeness and possible racism, which is unacceptable. I'm left feeling disappointed by this experience.

I wanted to check Yelp while I was at the restaurant since it seemed a bit pricey, but I couldn’t find much information. Despite that, we decided to eat there anyway. I ordered the burger and my sister chose the nuggets. I was pleased with my burger; it was quite good, and I was happy with my choice. The tenders, however, were just okay. My sister regretted not getting the Birria tacos, which were a special for the day. On the bright side, the fries were excellent! Overall, while it wasn’t worth the $16-$18 price tag, it did fill us up for lunch.

We ordered two frozen margaritas, but we couldn't taste the margarita mix or any alcohol in them. They ended up costing us $25.

I didn't have the best experience at this restaurant. I stood in line and reached the front without a mask, and I was turned away until I put one on. That’s fair enough—I understand the rules. However, what was frustrating was that when I returned and got back in line, I noticed two random guys in front of me who were ordering without masks without any issue. If you're going to enforce the mask policy, it should apply to everyone equally. Just saying.

When I visit, Joe is usually behind the bar, and he could probably whip up a rum runner with his eyes closed. The quality and service are consistent every single time, year after year. Special shout-out to Eric, Craig, and James as well; they've been a great help to me. By the time sunset comes around, I definitely need a bit of assistance! The sunset bar team is incredibly friendly, always in good spirits, and treats every guest like family. I revisit the Zephyr Cove resort cabins, lodge, and camping area multiple times from late spring through late fall. It’s a great spot if you’re not keen on the bustling nightlife at the state line. I love to venture out in the mornings to soak in nature but always make my way back for that magical sunset, rum runner in hand. They play nice, relaxing music and don’t mind having a chat with the guests. But let’s keep it hush-hush; I’m not trying to attract too many bar flies! Last summer, I noticed they’ve switched to paper straws. While they don’t seem to do much for the turtles when they end up on the ground, hopefully, they will biodegrade. It’s disheartening to see how some visitors treat this beautiful area. I’ve seen the beach packed like sardines on holidays, only to turn into a deserted space the very next day. You would never guess what had happened before, and I really appreciate the cleaning crew’s attention to detail. KEEP TAHOE BLUE... AND BEAUTIFUL. Let’s ensure this treasure can be enjoyed by generations to come!
