Perkins Bakery - Des Moines

I would rate this a zero star if that were an option. The waitressing was awful. The server had a pen and notepad in her hand when we were ready to order food and drinks, but she only took our drink order. She mentioned she’d come back for the food order because she wouldn’t remember it, even though she had the means to write it down. She walked by us twice without bringing our drinks or updating us on taking our food order. Eventually, we decided to leave and went to another place with much better food, service, and atmosphere. She really missed out on a good tip!

We were a party of four and ordered our meals, but we ended up waiting 50 minutes without any follow-up after our drinks were served. By the time we reached that 50-minute mark, the milk we ordered was warm and unappetizing. To make matters worse, other tables of four and larger that arrived after us received their food before we did. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. It was a terrible experience.

I have lunch here on a regular basis. The staff are always extremely polite and check in with me regularly, during my meal. Food is good and portions are on the smaller side.

This one is a flip of the coin. Apparently the cooks are not trained the same. We've had excellent food We've had food I could barely choke down. The service was okay. I wish they would be more consistent about how the food is prepared.

I love you guys, your crispy chicken w/crispy apple wood bacon. Red onions mixed tastey honey mustard dressing with 2 slices of garlic bread. Yum yum. Thank you!
