Lj's Burgers Ice Cream - Des Moines

I visited my son in Shallotte, NC, and bought a chocolate ice cream cake to celebrate his 40th birthday. I have to say that we all agreed it was the best cake we've ever had! I highly recommend it!

Burgers of my childhood! I remember going here when I was in high school in it's previous incarnation as Little John's and they still make their wonderful char broiled burger! Fantastic tenderloins too! And the fries? Crispy outside, tender inside and absolutely outstanding! WAY better than the chains!

Although we only ordered ice cream, I have to praise their customer service. We arrived after closing time, but they still kept the drive-thru open for us to get our ice cream. The ice cream itself tastes fantastic as well!

This is a charming little spot that I always make a point to visit while driving by. The burgers, especially the Little John, are fantastic!

Loved the ice cream cake we got here. Burgers are very tasty also.
