Anchor - Derry

A fair local restaurant of the john barras group with tasty, well prepared dresses on the menu. I went there with friends on Sunday and ordered a wild boarburger, whose pattie with wild boar, swan and apple. it was served on a Brioche beer with black pudding, roasted apple and a free egg. it also came with a beautiful sweet clobpy tomato sauce. it looked really good and tasted great. for £8.99 it was the most expensive burger on their menu and still good value to come with chips and a few tweeper rings. my friend now ordered a complete English, which seemed very fresh, with some boroughbridge sausage, free eggs and some really delicious mushrooms....read more

My friends and I were walking around the wall and I needed to use the lavatory. I saw the Anchor Bar so one of my friends and I stopped in. While she used the facilities, I ordered us 2 half pints. The lady tending bar was super friendly as were the folks sitting at the bar. We ended up sitting down and talking to some folks at the next table. We then texted our friends to come join us. We ended up staying for 2 or 3 rounds. The bartender came over and took a few photos for us. We had a great time there. The vibe of the place was just so laid back and friendly. We all loved it. We didn't eat so I don't even know if they offer food.

I had the pleasure of visiting this pub and receiving the warmest welcome ever! The staff and customers were all so lovely. I would highly recommend paying them a visit.

My friend Coleraine Kenny introduced me to this diamond..... actually situated not far from the diamond. It's an honest no frills establishment clean and with friendly staff and clientele. It has had a facelift recently and whilst it has created more room the friendly craic with the clientele and with the bar staff keeps going..if your looking for sympathy ur in the wrong place while the bubbly personality which is Sinead and the quieter but no less personable Joanne serve the drinks. I'm always sorry when it's time to leave but leave I must....until the next time....and so it will continue..
