I have heard good things about this place and went here at lunchtime. the place was huge and somewhat rustic. the staff is friendly and polite. it wasn't much of a wait. most courts were good. especially the 1st chicken jump roll was very good (5/5) 2nd papaya salad (5/5) was also excellent. 3. phad thai (4/5) and 4. shrimp shumai (4.5/5) was also good. but the 5th yellow curry was moderate. the veggies were huge pieces and the taste was too fat and raw. Their drinks were ok. they have a huge menu. Overall a decent place.
This place quickly becomes one of our regulars. great prices, huge portions, and eating is top notch. I will say that sushi is not my favorite, but the stirring fries and seafood pots are amazing! ask for chili oil on the side if they want to season it a bit. the hotness seems to be dependent on the cook. I usually ask for a 4 for half-spis. we love the atmosphere here too.
If they get the chance to visit the oregon district and love Thai eating, then they don't want to eat the best Thai living around I promise they won't be disappointed?
Very strange visit. Thai 9 is one of our favorite restaurants. Waited at the bar for a table on arrival. Both bartenders were very good and entertaining. High marks for them. On being shown to a table things went down hill. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Beer showed up in a bottle with no glasses offered. Requested glasses and were asked a second time about ordering appetizers. We told the server that we had already ordered them and he stated, oh, right they are probably sitting back there waiting on me He was correct. Appetizers came out correct but cold. We then ordered food. Several minutes later the server came back. Stated that he lost the ticket. So we repeated the order. He said it back to us wrong and we corrected him. He left then came back again, asked us again about our order, got it wrong again, and we ordered for the third time. It was at this point we knew we were on an adventure and speculated that the order would never show up correct. It did not. Neither of us got what we ordered. Spouse ordered pork and got chicken. I ordered a spicy fried noodle dish and got rice. Ordered the seafood option which came out partially correct in that what ever I got had shrimp in it. No scallops, mussels, crab or fish but at least there was shrimp. The good news is that what ever it was that we had was good and ended up cheaper than what we ordered. Place was busy but our server was running around like he was on fire. Not sure why he couldn't or wouldn't write down our orders but he didn't and even after three trys still got it wrong.
