Contribuiți la feedbackFood: 5/5 so good. We started with the mussels. Beautiful creamy sauce with a very subtle hint of spice. Wedding risotto… shut up. So good. If you love Italian wedding soup and comfort food this is the perfect dish. Creamy chicken risotto over a bed of creamy risotto and meatballs. This is all placed over a savory broth. Again.. SO GOOD. My husband got the scallops and they were fabulous. Ravioli made to perfection tossed in a creamy sauce and scallops. Excellent dish. Service 5/5: We had Brittany (sp? .. amazing. She gave great recommendations for wine pairings with our meals and was rapid and attentive. There’s servers who just want the day to end and servers who enjoy creating an experience with you. She’s the latter. Atmosphere 5/5: Beautifully designed. From the ambient low lights to the different textured walls. This place is a VIBE honey. Moral of the story… come to roost and see one of the bests that Dayton has to offer.
Always an incredible dining experience. Chef Downs menu always offers such amazing choices, it’s hard to decide what to order.
Brittany gave us the best service and spoiled my mom for her Birthday. The filet mignon was by far the best of our meals. I also highly recommend the muscles with the spinach and tomato cream sauce. We shared the fries with truffle aioli dip and dill pickle ketchup, both were amazing. The chocolate cake is perfectly decadent and not overly sweet. The dark chocolate shell over the spumoni ice cream was so delicious. Great ambiance, friendly and fun customers and wonderful atmosphere and hospitality.
The bread there is the best bread i’ve ever had! Must get for an appetizer. Very nice place.
WOW! Is about the only words I can find to describe Roost! This is going to be an honest but silly review! Was looking for someplace new in Dayton and found Roost! Funny when we walked up another couple looked and said “what’s Roost?”. Well let me tell you…come closer…too close..Roost is a hidden Dayton Gem. Everything from reservations to the waitstaff, to the food and ambience was well thought out and pleasing. We got the scallops and ravioli..seriously the crème sauce literally was served at the Last Supper! It was so amazing! The scallops were cooked perfectly! I had the Black Truffle Ragu and that too was outstanding. The serving came out and I thought I would still be hungry but I was full much longer than I thought. I was disappointed because the Meatballs had sold out, but if they tasted as good as everything else I understand why! Lastly to the staff, well done. Allow me to give credit where credit is due. Chad our server was the most friendly, professional, knowledgeable and patient server ever. Chad I literally was driving home and thinking “should I have tipped more?”. Chad walked through the menu with us and if Chad isn’t a sommelier, he should be one. Wine pairing suggestions were on point. Even offered a wine that wasn’t on the menu for my date who likes something sweeter. There was another server that was just as amazing. Our light went out on our table and she quickly and politely swapped it out for us. The only complaint I have is no meatballs and I would have liked to see a simple fettuccine or spaghetti and meatball dish…however the food that I received was much more tasty and complex than either of those other Italian staples. Thank you Roost for an enjoyable evening and an amazing experience! I will be back again!
