El Fogón - David

We are here several times and really like this place. The times we went were early in the afternoon and it was relatively empty every time, so although the service was great not sure how it would be when they were busy. This time we started with the Ceviche Pescado, who was great. For a main course I had the Pernil Asado and my wife had the Pescado al fagon. The pig was a little hard and dry, but very tasty, and came with beautiful salad and crispy frits. The Pescado el Nebel was wonderful. I would definitely get the fish again, but would take a passport on the pork. The atmosphere at the place is very beautiful.

The food tasted so fresh and the chicken was so moist! Great stop between Panama City and Boquete during the ride.

Christmas ham, chicken and rice and chicken salad was AMAZING! Beautiful atmosphere and they make you feel sooo welcomed. Very recommended!

I went to the old El Fogon about 12 years ago, always liked it and decided to try this newer version on a trip to David. This is beautiful and has air conditioning. I had a rib-eye streak, which was tasty and tender by Panama standards. A cup of wine will order you a full pourer! She doesn't sneak. The service was also very good, fast, polite, food came all at the right times, hot and tasteful. This is not a 5-star restaurant on every route. It is a family-friendly steak and pasta restaurant that does what it does very well! It's a safe bet.

All the food we have had here is pretty good (this is our third or fourth visit). Atmosphere feels higher end than most David restaurants. The service is ok. Prices are a bit higher than I'd like but not unreasonable.
