Zeke's Island Cafe - Davenport

I love the Aloha Plate! So much food I get 2 meals out of it!

Hawaiian Caribbean fusion. That 's gotta be a first for me. Anyways, after spotting the reviews on this one we made our way to grab lunch and I gotta say... the hype is real. Pretty casual spot all around with a full bar. Parking was easy to come by in the rear of the cafe. Staff was friendly through the entire dining experience and you can pick wherever you 'd like to sit. Once seated some free plantain chips to enjoy while browsing the menu. Note: beers only $4 on tap. Score! Ended up sharing a smaller order of the nachos and had a Jamaican Jerk chicken plate for myself. The nachos while not the prettiest thing to look at were damn tasty! Tortilla chips topped with melted cheddar, Hawaiian style pulled pork, choice of spicy bbq sauce, sour cream, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. Deliciousness in every bite! The Jamaican jerk plate just as great. Jamaican seasoned chicken served with black beans, fried rice, cilantro, onions, shredded carrots, limes, and a side of cole slaw. Let 's just say there were no leftovers when it was all said and done. Price point came out to just under $30 as I recall for the two of us. Not bad all for two entrees, an appetizer and a draft beer. I 'll take it. 'Til next time, cheers!

I'm in the area often for work. This was a nice surprise. I couldn't decide between the jerk chicken or garlic shrimp. I settled on chicken and it came with a sampling of a new chicken recipe they had. I thought that was great! The chicken came on island rice and beans. There was a side of coleslaw too. It was very refreshing! The chicken was a good choice. I will have to come back and try the shrimp. They also have nachos and salads. They look good too! Parking is in the back. It's easy to miss the turn for it.

HULI HULI at Zeke's Davenport The food scene in the Davenport/Quad cities area just seems to never get boring. On a business trip last year, I was referred to Zeke's by a colleague who worked at Arconic Mills. I was looking for a place to eat for lunch so I decided to check out Zeke's. This is a great place for lunch and popular, so be prepared to wait or get there early. Street parking is tricky so if you can find a spot try the back of Zeke's. The restaurant has front and back seating, both area are great to eat, the back has a higher ceiling and a different feel than the front of the restaurant. My server was awesome and guided me through the menu. The food is as described, a fusion of Caribbean, Hawaiian and Mexican cuisine. Since I love trying new things, I went for the Huli Huli Chicken with an Ice Cold Kona light Golden Ale. The Chicken was grilled to perfection, moist tender and juicy, the sauce were a bit on the hot side but not overwhelming. This was a great choice and with an almost dinner size portion. The place itself is lively and busy at lunch with great natural lighting. I have had Hawaiian style food before, and Zeke's did a great job on their take of the classic Huli Huli Chicken. I do recommend the Kona Golden Ale with the Huli Huli chicken its a prefect balance to the spiciness of the sauce on the chicken. Most surprising was the egg roll served with the chicken. Its not your run of the mill frozen and deep fried egg roll, the egg rolls at Zeke's are homemade. Check out Zeke's Island Cafe if you're ever in the downtown Davenport area.

We found this gem on Yelp and were not disappointed! We arrived right when it opened on a Saturday and were the only people there the whole time. Our waitress was very friendly and when I told her we were from out of town she filled us in on the menu favorites. I got the crispy shrimp Caribbean tacos and my boyfriend got the Aloha plate. My tacos were amazing; I was nervous about there only being two but they were a good size. We were also very impressed with the Aloha meal but agreed if we're ever back we would just go for the Huli Huli chicken only. This place is definitely worth a visit!
