I had a bottle of water that I put on the table. the waiter came by and told me to remove the water as this was illegal in Germany. how to make people welcome! I constantly wear water with me and have traveled far in Germany and have never experienced such unmistakable. I didn't want to drink from my water.
We had a dinner with our european collegues at the restaurant, most of them didn 't speak german. We have been very surprised how the waiters behaved with us. Their service was very rude, and we could clearly feel how annoyed they were. One waiter even...skipped the order of a collegue of mine saying, in german I don 't understand what you say and moving to the next customer. No effort to try to conciliate the difference in languages with english-speaking collegues. I 've lived many years in Germany, and never felt so embarassed with a service at a restaurant. Beers and food were ok, though.
I liked my speciality schnitzel very much. The menu wasn't quite as extensive as I'd have liked. The atmosphere is good and everyone was very pleasant to me. It's quite a big restaurant, (though it's not obvious from outside), and it's popular so the...staff can become quite busy. If you're pressed for time, I suggest you order and request the bill when the opportunity presents itself. It would be wise to reserve a table if you needed a certain time slot, especially with a group. I'd be more than happy to return.
Nice cosy but never try after 9:30 pm as you risk to be badly served Wonderful fresh brewed beer as expected of course!
It is a really good and cheap pub. I reallt like the schweinsaxe... Really great!! Also great the beer!!!! You have to go in Braustub'l... you can taste german flavours as you want!!!!
