FRAUD! The woman at the counter with a heavy accent (Ich spreche Deutsch) took my order and we added a food item. She then handed me a call device for picking up the food when ready. The buzzer went off and I went for my small food order where I was asked for a receipt (keep in mind I had the buzzer in hand and my order was right in front of me. I was asked for a ticket that I never received and going back to the order station the same woman insisted she gave me the ticket. I am a native german speaker and she insisted me looking for a ticket that I never received. In conclusion I did not wanted to cause an event as other customers where waiting, due to a small minded individual. $9 Euro is not worth that! But to those travellers not fluent in the language and do not want to get cheated, Please go elsewhere! Darmstadt is full of honest and great Beer Gardens! Just not this one.

Went there on two evenings , really good simple German food guter wurstsalad weisswuerste sehr gut und schweinshaxe excellent; Waiter very friendly an efficient,sitting under trees its nice n cool on a hot day;

…it was around 9pm and “late”…and the drinks came fast (the owner brought them)…but having to wait for the (new) server for half an hour to get our order was just ridiculous (she preferred to get the checks for *everybody* instead of taking our order). Only after me complaining (with the “old” server that knows me since years and is lovely) we managed to get food. And the girl came 15 min later to take our order and was surprised we were not happy. Girl, get another job (she should be fired). Food continues to be excellent asparagus season is great with the delicious asparagus with butter, potatoes and fantastic Argentinian steak and the salmon tartar with asparagus salad. Definitely worth a repeat but next time I hope that girl does not work there anymore…

We came here for dinner in June 2023. Thanks to the fine weather, we sat outside where the beer garden offers much space. There was even a little playground for children. I ordered roast beef with onions (Zwiebelrostbraten) which came with fried potatoes and a fresh salad. The roast beef was juicy and tender. The fried potatoes well seasoned and crunchy. The freshly tapped beer served in a stone jug was a perfect fit for the meat. For dessert I had Bavarian Creme (Bayrish Creme) with beeries fresh and sweet. The Bayerischer Biergarten Darmstadt offers hearty and sweet regional dishes and freshly tapped beers in an excellent location. The team of the restaurant is very professional and friendly. We look forward to coming back!

It is great this place is open again and with it, the many specials of the season asparagus salad with strawberries, salmon tartar and the strawberry parfait as dessert. A pity they did not have the combined sampler plates, but great to see quality remains excellent. And also, all of the known waiters are also back…it is a little bit like coming home.
