The Island Spot - Dallas

The atmosphere was very relaxed. Basically, if you are in a rush, go somewhere else!!! The food was surprisingly amazing (they give out great portions), the drinks were good and I highly recommend this location. Again, if you’re not patient or in aquestionable mood….go somewhere else! This place is a whole vibe and either your apart of the vibe or you’re not. Bepatient, smile, be open to trying new meals and enjoy the atmosphere.

Yum! Mama Joyce Chicken, trust me.. try the spinach. We originally ordered Togo but the dining room is so inviting and bright we decided to dine in. Perfect waitstaff, so helpful. Will definitely be back often!

I enjoy my two visits and plan to see every other Thursday again. I love poetry nights. fun, silly hostess, clean environment and great moods.

The parking is tight in the area however the overall experience was great being in the Oak Cliff area.

I prefer this location of The Island Spot because there was live reggae music on Friday night. I had the jerk chicken nachos which were delicious. The drinks there are strong also. . . I suggest the Painkiller. The friends that I was with enjoyed the curry chicken and cabbage but said the rice peas were dry. The waiter was very responsive and took it back and gave my friend another side of cabbage. Overall, it was a good dinner date to the Island Spot. I enjoyed the atmosphere and definitely will return.
