Contribuiți la feedbackAfter my 5-star visit in March (see picture below), visited again in June. This time not so great. Brisket sliced with- instead of across the fiber. Sausage and ribs dry. Broke down soft serve ice cream machine, just as I arrived (and dropped my $25 on aself serve meal). Inconsistent at best. Will not be back.
This place was super amazing! I went in there looking for something called loaded macaroni and cheese. They did not have it, however they let me buy the separates that I needed to make it myself. And even gave me an extra container to do it with. Ibought 11 oz of mac and cheese, half a pound of chopped beef with extra chives and shredded cheese. I got an extra thing ofbarbecue sauce to drape over it. When I tell you this was an amazing eating experience. The chopped beef was so tender and themac and cheese was made just right, in my opinion. I saw some reviews that said it was too salty. I didn't think so; could havebeen a little more cheesier. Just because that's the way I like my mac and cheese is with extra cheesy taste. Believe me! LOLsatisfied my craving to the T. I really appreciate good customer service like this. And I got all of that for under $20. Oh, onemore thing, their peach cobbler is super amazing as well. I'm definitely going back!
This BBQ restaurant has such a rich history along with some of the most amazing BBQ I have ate here in Dallas. I been to all of the popular and to be blunt overhyped restaurants around Dallas. Big Al Smokehouse BBQ hits all the right spots, great customer service, Texan ambiance, some of the best Mac N Cheese I have ever tasted and of course one of the most delicious BBQ! I tried the ribs, chopped beef and all of the slides. This place deserves to be jam packed everyday. Ditch the overhyped, waiting in line for hours, and decent BBQ. Try this one out you won’t regret it!
My go to spot when I can't get to oak cliffs smokey joes
I got the meat lovers plate, and the portions were not as big as I expected. I guess one slice of brisket is considered “one meat.” The chicken was ok, beef rib was good, jalapeño sausage was very skinny, and the brisket was good. But the sides were the most disappointing. The mashed potatoes tasted like water, no cream or seasoning, the macaroni didn’t have any cheese, just pepper, and the deviled eggs were sweet. It’s just not what I’m used to. Now will say the fried okra and beans were good, but I reckon someone needs to bring their grandma into the kitchen and let them know what’s gone wrong, because something just ain’t right. The staff was kind, and the free warm BBQ sauce, pickle bar, and free ice cream were great definitely perks of the experience. I highly recommend their Memphis BBQ sauce. Probably won’t be back though. Ferris Wheeler’s and Sonny Bryan’s will suffice.
