No. 1 Broad Street - Cuckfield

My partner and I are thrilled that Nr. 1 Broad Street has reopened with such a diverse cooking and menu selection. We visited on Saturday afternoon and were impressed by the beautifully presented and delicious cuisine in a relaxed, contemporary setting. The Italian rosé wine we chose was fabulous, and the service was excellent. We are especially pleased that the restaurant offers an à la carte menu, unlike many other fine establishments nearby that prefer to stick to a fixed tasting menu. We were regulars at the now-closed Jeremy's Restaurant at Borde Hill, and Nr. 1 Broad Street has certainly filled that gap, perhaps even surpassing it. So much so that we plan to return for dinner in a few weeks. Highly recommended!

This was our first visit to Nr. 1, and it definitely won't be our last! We initially ordered from the à la carte menu, but after just one bite of our starters, we asked if we could switch to the tasting menu. Johnny was incredibly accommodating and truly went above and beyond for us. The menu is straightforward, and the dishes feature wonderful seasonal flavors that are beautifully presented. Well done, Johnny, and well done to the whole team!

The dining experience was truly delightful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Great food, fabulous service will definitely be back

We enjoyed a wonderful six course tasting menu with a nice bottle of red wine. It was a warmish summer evening so we had our meal in the outside portion on the restaurant. Everything was perfect, tasty and fresh. Service was casual and we lacked for nothing. Dishes were served warm or cold as appropriate. We are already planning our next visit!
