Seabirds Kitchen The Lab - Costa Mesa

The food and drinks at this restaurant are fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. As parents of a young vegan child, we were especially happy to find a proper kids menu that included colored pencils for drawing. It's great to not have to spend $20 on a meal that our child will only eat half of!

We have dined at this restaurant multiple times, as well as their Long Beach location, and although they have slightly different menus, the overall experience is mostly the same. The grilled cheese is exceptional and a must-order for us every time we visit. The purple taquitos are also delicious. I have tried the mushroom taco and fried avocado taco, both of which were fantastic. However, my favorite dish is the warm cauliflower salad - it has a crunchy texture with a hint of spice and tanginess. The butternut squash enchiladas are also very tasty. Even the stuffed shells, which are vegan, are unbelievably creamy and delicious. The kids enjoyed the beets me burger. But the real star of the show is the dessert - the chaffle. This innovative creation is churro batter made into a waffle, topped with cinnamon sugar, served with ice cream, chocolate or caramel sauce, and nuts. It is truly amazing and whoever came up with this idea is a genius. It is definitely a dish to share as it is quite large.

The restaurant offers freshly made dishes and is conveniently located near UCI. The atmosphere inside has an industrial vibe. However, parking can be a bit challenging.

In a beautiful location, really high quality food, and high (but fair prices). Like that you can add tofu to dishes like the mac-n-cheese to add protein.

Celebrating their 10th year at this location. Great indoor and outdoor seating with a lot of to-go business. Enchiladas are fantastic, as well as their brussel sprout appetizer that didn’t fall apart during cooking. Beet burger came with side of salad or fries and bean side came with enchiladas. A full meal for sure! Only complaint was that we started with one server and then another server took over. They kinda of forgot about us at the end due to their own confusion.
