Great place to come and eat. The staff were very friendly and looked after us all. The food was lovely and exactly what I expected. The mead was pretty good as well.
The Meadery seems a curiously Cornish tradition that has built up over the last 60 years or so, the combination of faux medieval surroundings, fried finger food and relatively potent Cornish mead making for an interesting and enjoyable experience. The Trewellard Meadery is located in an old chapel in the very far west of Cornwall between St Just and Pendeen. We ate there during a visit with friends in April 2023. We had a combination of the traditional chicken, scampi and fish bites within our party and all were very enjoyable along with blackberry, elderberry and cherry mead. The restaurant was full and clearly very popular. It was also pretty good value overall, given the amount of mead we had consumed. The staff were friendly and the food was pretty good for what it was. We would certainly return.
We came for dinner on a Friday evening. Most of the party had come here many times and so knew what to expect and what the food was like. The food is ok if you like stuff deep fried but it was all a bit greasy for me. The place is very dark but quite atmospheric I guess
It is a good place to have lunch and a meal or a decafe teaor decafe coffee and the staff there are friendly and polite
