I stopped by on Saturday, the 4th, to get a takeout sandwich and soda. The restaurant was not very busy, so I was hoping for good service. However, the staff seemed more interested in their phones than taking my order. After spending £6.30 on a sandwich and drink, I went home. When I opened my sandwich, I was disappointed to find an undercooked piece of bacon, a small sausage, and an egg. The only good part was the well-cooked egg. Charging £4.50 for a sandwich with just a piece of bacon and one sausage is outrageous. I hope this was just a bad day, but I don't think I'll be returning to number 62.
We visited the restaurant for a late lunch today at 1:50pm. The staff were friendly, but we had to ask for our table to be cleaned as they were occupied with chatting. We placed our order at 1:52pm, and shortly after, an older lady arrived with her friend and sat at the table next to us. Unfortunately, at 1:55pm, the waitress informed them that the kitchen was closed, which left them disappointed. It was disappointing to see, especially since our order had just been taken. Our food arrived 5 minutes later and it was delicious. However, we had to ask for cutlery after waiting for several minutes, and the staff were still busy chatting.
We went and had breakfast at no 62 with my husband and friends as on holiday. The service was excellent, we had cooked breakfasts very tasty. Lovely little place. We will deff go in there again.
From my window in the Brunel Inn opposite, I watched this cafe preparing to open. So after a quick wash and shave there I was sitting down to breakfast. I didn't know what to expect, but my Full English was terrific. The bacon wasn't hot but at least it was tasty. Other than that, everything on the plate was well cooked and spot on. It's a lovely one-unit cafe, freshly revamped, with a few tables inside and a few out by the pavement. A blonde lady was running it, with a young woman of about school-leaving age, who took care of me well. Very happy with No 62 cafe.
