The Coniston hotel

Although I lived in the opposite, I have never been to dinner in the coniston hotel. this time we decided to give it an attempt and were pleasantly surprised. the menu, although quite standard pub preparation plus wood fired pizzas, was extensive and. very good price. the food was excellent, I'll visit again. this is a bit a jewel in an unexpected place.

I went to lunch and it was great. the meal was the perfect size and looked out and tasted as it was made with love.

Ordered the salt and peppered dusted squid and expected a nice full meal but instead got served half a baby squid compared to someone across from me who got a full serving which looked lovely! Made me very jealous! And don’t get me stared on...the lack of garlic on my garlic so called bread?

Pizza based were hard to chew. Squid was awesome. Chips were like everywhere else. Haloumi was great. Nachos are good but corn chip ratio to topping was excessive. Arancini balls were slightly better than plain which probably suits the majority of pallets, but don’t feed...them to a European!

The worst! Do not eat here if you have any kind of dietary requirements. Poor communication, we were told beforehand that they could do whatever, just talk to the chef. This was a lie, i ended up eating mediocre potato chips for dinner. It is...totally fine and understandable not to cater to specific diets but please be honest about it.
