Sugas's is a wonder. We went on Saturday for brunch. It has a smalldining area and there was a crowd. The food was delicious especially the shrimp soup. This little place has been around for 20+ years. They must be doing something great.
Average Experience, Great Vibes, Unlikely to Return We visited Shuga in Colorado Springs on a Friday at 12:30 PM, and it was bustling, which may explain the long wait for our food, taking about an hour. The sandwich was cold, and my spouse's soup arrived 15 minutes after the hour mark. The waiter was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was welcoming and LGBTQ+ friendly, which we appreciated. The check came promptly, but overall, while it was a nice experience, I don't think I'd come back.
Albert earned all 5 of this reviews stars. My food took much longer than normal, and he recognized that without me saying anything and immediately said he was contacting the owner to see what he could do to rectify the situation. As I said, I didn’t have to ask Albert what was going on, he was paying attention and genuinely cared about me and my experience. Albert ended up finding a solution, and I ended up leaving with a smile despite the cook being much slower than normal. Great job Albert, glad to have you at Shuga’s.
Amazing atmosphere and food! Such a fun spot to hang out. Vibes are immaculate and both food and drinks are great. Service takes some time but waiters are amazing.
