Contribuiți la feedbackOverall no terrible experience. However, the surprise of an 8% “hospitality” fee was a bait and switch. the personal was good, but it is clear that this is a management decision, not theirs. Please increase their prices only if they need to keep their employees fair and pay due to rising costs, etc. I am all for it. However, the practice of adding surprise fees on the rear end is unhappy....not a good thing in the restaurant business. I don't care to pay higher prices than informed customer. I'm thinking about paying more than I expected, so I won't be back. many thanks for the opportunity for honest feedback.
The food was excellent and the service was average. I ordered a dark roast coffee and when it came, it looked more like a brighter roast. I mentioned it to the server and she said it was the dark roast. the coffee was terrible and cost me $7! go to eat, but skip the coffee!
We had made reservations. When we arrived no one greeted us. We saw only one area that was opened but no tables available. The other section was closed off. We ask the barkeep about our reservation she was gracious and stated would we mind sitting at the bar. We had no problem with that. She got us our drinks and took our order and placed it with the cooks. Sitting at the bar we observed the manager or owner being very critical of his staff. He made unnecessary remarks to them. It should not have been done in front of patrons. After 45 minutes we asked when our order would be served. She check and said they were about to prepare it. We told her to cancel it. No food especially lunch was worth that wait. We paid for our drinks and left. We will not patronize Urban Steam against. We had been there twice before.
Normally we enjoy this restaurant but had a bad experience this time. We'd have politely told the staff if anyone would have asked. No one ever did. Our coffee drinks were served luke warm. As was our food. Two signature dishes looked beautiful but must have sat for quite some time before being brought to our table. Cold eggs. Cold potatoes. Cold waffles. Cold biscuits.
We had reservations for 12:30 . We arrived at 12:15 and were seated immediately. The restaurant was moderately busy. It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come to the table. We gave our order immediately as we had plans after brunch. We ordered coffee, which was cold. The waiter didn’t come back to refill or check on us for 20 minutes. It was another 30 minutes before we got up to ask where are food was, by this time it was over an hour since we sat down. We were told it would be another 5 to 8 minutes. We explained we had somewhere to be at 2:00pm. Two of our meals appeared 8 minutes later. Our third party member had to wait another 10 minutes for their meal to arrive. We were almost done with our meal by this point. The food was okay, but the service will take this restaurant off our list.
