Take a coffee or a coffee at least, install and ask to go to the bathroom 5 min do what it takes. respect the people around you, who are at the restaurant to spend a relaxing moment. I am very happy to know how the person who received you reacted. because we wouldn't have liked to suffer at our meal. Your comment was really nice to me, it was one of the reasons that helped me choose this restaurant. we appreciate the children, but not the parents who think they are all allowed on the pretexts that they have children, I find this with all impolitity! (the holidays, parking spaces, restaurants, elevators, nursing sessions in the middle of the restaurant that walks around the tables and I pass through there. I am now going to the real comment to describe this restaurant that deserves the detour! We loved the framework that was one of our search criteria as we cross in alsace. to feel well immersed. And it's successful! carpet, warm, wood, a little dark, shaking and very relaxing. calm people were present. We took two authentic dishes (chuckut and ham cooked at the pin in front of us at the entrance of the restaurant we selected this restaurant more than another present at colmar following the photos that showed quality dishes on the internet and various networks. and we were delighted, like the wines. It's very well chosen and well cooked. The regulars come here and not just the tourists! It's an important criterion to see the right restaurants. We were well installed too. not as much as in some restaurants that seek to come back as possible and we all enter, there we had room, a real table of 2 for 2. They arranged the room. We also enjoyed the quality cover, the true salt at the spoon, as well as the napp and towels. and to finish a service with small care, with carafe water served in our glasses. Thank you. We have been on a tour of france for a year, based on French culture its gastronomy and we will advise you this address that deserves to be discovered here in colmar, whether it be a visit or for residents. If we come back, we'll be back here! Keep it that way.
In the middle of the Christmas market, -1°, my 4-month-old baby saddles in her diaper. My spouse took care of my grandfather 3 and a half years. I left with my daughter in my arms, I quickly walked into the city and the crowd to find a place or changed it quickly and I fell on this restaurant absolutely not crowded) so I'm going to go back to the restaurant, fall on the boss and ask her limit by excitement if I can just change the baby's diaper. He looks at me, lets a little laugh, lowers his head to check his book and answers me, but you think it's there! shocked this very unpleasant welcome and this answer I told him that I would share this experience of his restaurant he answers me so dry that this good evening would cost this gentleman to let a mother change his baby? I was suffocated, the beard that fell because he was uncomfortable! I find it unacceptable! I didn't ask her to settle for breastfeeding or I don't know what! Five minutes to change your diaper! I'm a colmarienne, I haven't come to your restaurant on bad echoes yet, so everything is confirmed! I would never put a foot there and I would not recommend the restaurant to whom I would ask for a review. Thank you to the restaurant the red iron that has been full and has welcomed me all smile and opened the doors so that I can go change my daughter in their toilet!
Great local fare but elevated. I really enjoyed lamb prepared in a rich , complex reduction. It was served with “gnocchi “ that I would describe as what seemed like a light cake of polenta, but either way , it was delicious. Service was extremely attentive and friendly. Much faster, but not rushed, than experienced in other local places.
To start i ate the Betteraves cuites en robe des champs Anguille fumée Moutarde givrée (beets with eel mustard), looked pretty but such a lack of eel it was as if there was none, tasted ok I ordered the Epaule d’agneau Jus au raz el hanout royal lamb with a Moroccan sauce couscous, unfortunately this had a very strong flavour of Indian curry which was not written on the menu. It was so late I was so tired that I didn't send it back which was regretful as I dislike curry so only ate the meat which was cooked well. A bit disappointing honestly.
Colmar is a wonderful town. And there are countless dining options. We did some research and chose this restaurant for our first night in town. We made a reservation several weeks before. Which was a good thing, since they had to turn away several guests that night. Our English Bulldog was welcome here as well, which was very nice of them. The menu in this Michelin restaurant is compact, but has something for every taste. It's modern french cuisine I'd say. We ordered a glass of local Riesling with our starters. There was a complementary Amuse-Bouche. A kind of cream-puff, but savoury with a creamy, cheesy filling. A really tasty appetizer. For starters we chose the Galantine duck and foie gras and trout carpaccio. Both fantastic choices. Wonderful duck and foie gras (mi-cuit), matched the Riesling perfectly. And the trout (pink/orange) was better quality-wise than most salmon in any other restaurants we know. High quality, fresh, highly enjoyable. For the mains we ordered the Veal shank confit and the Milk-fed lamb shoulder. Both excellent dishes. A bottle of red with that . I know duck confit, but veal confit (72 hours) was new to me. What a tender, juicy piece of meat. Actually: Piece of art! And the sauce...heaven! Confit is something you need to try. And this place here would be perfect for that. But also the lamb was wonderful. Equally tender, very smooth and with a rich sauce. You wouldn't even know it's lamb taste-wise, it was just perfect. There wasn't any room for desserts after this rich meal. A really fantastic dinner in a wonderful restaurant with a classic and cosy setting. It was pretty packed, so the staff was pretty busy. But they were quick and attentive, just didn't really have time for a quick chat or so. Price-wise it was fair. Around 150 Euros for two glasses of white, a bottle of red, two starters and two mains. For this quality? I would actually even say more than fair. A great place.
