Called in a order and while the lady was calculating my total she was talking to one of the regulars about disgusting sexual acts. Then when I came a separate time I gave the lady my credit card and she looked at me like I had just pulled out a sack of pennys. She then very rudely told me I had to use the atm with a ridiculous fee. Another time I called to order lunch within the hours of their lunch service as stated on their Take out menu I got recently and they. Stated that I could only get pizza.
Normal bar food, beer is cheap, and filled with locals even at noon. There isn't a lot of choice in Colfax, but I occassionally hit this place up for some greasy grub.
I visited this place because of its intriguing name and ended up having a pleasant conversation with a friendly local. The bartender was also very nice and welcoming. We ordered a few seven/sevens for just $3.00 each and tried their house-made pizza, which was frozen and then cooked in a pizza oven for $10.00. It was hearty and decent. However, I had a significant issue with the number of flies buzzing around the bar. It was quite distracting and not acceptable for a restaurant.
It's definitely nicer than the Outhouse (their competitor down the street), but the lack of an enclosed smoking area leads me to give it a 3-star rating.
I brought in the chef an hour before the grill opened to feed our basketball team from East Metro after a tournament game. The food was excellent, and the service came with a smile. If you find yourself in Colfax on a Saturday afternoon, be sure to stop in and say hello to Penny.
