Smitty's Cochrane

The Restaurant overall is just OK. The food is a quite plain, and a bit over-priced. They do have a good kids menu, which is quite reasonable. The menu is quite large with a lot of selection. Overall the staff are friendly and nice, but the place could use a bit of a renovation.

I order my Eggs Benedict with my usual request for extra hollandaise sauce since I find that most places tend not to give you enough. I usually have to pay extra.Our waitress brought it, and I thought it was extremely salty. I tried it again. Then I asked my husband to try it and he agreed that the cook had overdone it. Our server came back, 3/4 of the way through the meal and I told her. She said she'd talk to the kitchen. I had to ask another server for a glass of water.

We have over the years not been at very many Smitty's restaurants as we felt the quality had gone down over the years. It seems that each restaurant needs to stand on its own but with the common menu. It truly makes a difference I believe in the food and experience if you have great staff. This location in Cochrane was very enjoyable for us when we went with extended family.The place was busy on a Sunday morning which was a good sign. We were seated quickly and the server was pleasant and helpful overall.With little children with us, it was important that they liked the food as well and we realized quickly that they did!The order for each of us was fairly common as a Canadian breakfast. It was good, but the omelette lacked a bit of flavour. The meat was great as well as the pancakes and waffle. The cost was reasonable as well which was a bonus.As was noted when we left, we will go back again sometime. I trust that the quality will remain or get better. It was great to have personable staff as well.keep up the good work!

The food is generally ok here but I dislike their pancakes. No taste but the syrup and they aren't chewy as they go to mush in your mouth. For the best pancakes Dennys has improved their recipe to include fresh buttermilk and they're hard pressed to beat home made. so other things just family restaurant chain ok but for pancake cravings go to Dennys even if it's to go to Calgary!

Travelling to Banff this was a great breakfast stop to start our day. Pancakes and a great breakfast special. No lineups and attentive servers; thank you!
