We were here. the breakfast looks good, but is very bland and often served cold. brot is tasteless. some good dishes for lunch, but I would look elsewhere. good service and very nice atmosphere.
In the heart of the Pueblo Magico (Magical Village of Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico, the Posada Coatepec is an the perfect place to relax with all the modern amenities with a colonial mexican charm. As soon as you walk through the arched door towards the interior flower...filled patio with its wishing well, you feel you are in another time. The restaurant has a wide variety of local and interrnational dishes, freshly prepared by experienced chefs. Each of the hotel 's rooms has a different name of a city or town(Tokyo, New York, Las Vigas, etc. instead of numerical, and the decoration changes for each one. The swimming pool is great for enjoying a warm morning or afternoon. The Villa in the far corner is excellent for a family vacation while one explores the incredible surrounds of this enchanting Veracruz region.
The Posada Coatepec is located in the town of Coatepec, approximately seven miles from Xalapa and is located in the hotel of the same name. We visited the Posada Coatepec on two separate occasions, six months apart and had strikingly different experiences. On the first...occasion (mid 2008), the food was interesting and exquisite among the finest restaurants we have eaten at anywhere in the world. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was delightful. When we returned to Coatepec four months later, we made a beeline for the Posada Coatepec. We were terribbly disappointed. The menu was not nearly as varied, the food was mediocre at best (and somewhat overpriced) and the service was horrendous. Generally, restaurant service in Mexico is excellent and far superior to U.S. restaurants. Not so during our December, 2008 visit to the Posada Coatepec. Although the restaurant was far from crowded, we waited 45 minutes for our meal. Our waietr, who had only two tables to attend to at that point, was entirely inattentive and never even came to us for dessert selections. We had to seek him out to obtain our check at the end of the evening. Probably some of the worst service we have ever experienced during our travels through Mexico. Bottom line it's tough to recommend the Posada Coatepec given our very mixed experiences, especially because it is a fairly precey venue.
Great place to breakfast. they can have eggs in various diferent Mexican style. it is located in an old colonial giant house that is now a posada. it's good.
