Deviate Café - Clovelly

Clovelly Social House is fantastic for winter with its sunny outdoor dining all day long. My friends and I have made this our new local as the food is excellent, the owner really welcoming and service professional. Love their new menu!!! Prices are reasonable and nice to support a local hardworking business.

They need some serious improvement with staff. Service is its biggest let down. How about same local employees. Lunch food average.

This place was previously called Deviate. Apparently, the management has stayed the same even though the name has changed. But it's good to know that it's the same friendly experience, great menu and delicious food. We visit quite regularly and always get great service. They have a nice selection of breakfast/brunch options and coffees are excellent. Indoor seating and pavement seating available. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Suitable for families with children, couples, friends or solo diners.

We started coming here when it was Deviate and the excellent food and service has continued with the name change. Sitting in the warm winter sunshine at an outside table, we enjoyed a lovely long lunch with two friends. When we turned up at our 1pm reservation time we could see the place was very busy and were informed that meals could take from 25 mins to an hour to arrive.Debated about staying or moving on, but knowing their food and coffee was great we stayed. Coffee quickly ordered and served and, in the end, our meals were delivered in less than thirty minutes. Two great burgers, a veggie wrap and grilled fish and chips all perfect.

Great place to meet friends for a meal. Have only had dinner, BYO is permitted although their prices are not so bad. Good menu, variety of small plates to share as well as mains to eat individually or share. We shared the lamb meatballs, arancini balls and garlic king prawns and I had the eye fillet with colcannon a main, all delicious. Service was erratic, despite not being busy we had to grab their attention a couple of times. But friendly and welcoming. Can't complain about the food, prices are reasonable and it was served quickly and nobody had any complaints at all.
