Plumb Cafe - Clarence

Enjoyed an excellent lunch here with sea views and intriguing menu. Some nice pleasant vegetarian dishes available. Efficient service and delicious food.

I had my birthday party upstairs - my 38 guests and I were well looked after and the food was lovely.

My adult son I recently had lunch at Hurricanes Cafe formerly known as Plumb). There is limited seating out the front and is dog friendly which is good! Down the back of cafe it has a section where there is blackboard toys...for little ones. There were no children when we visited but my son and his wife have taken their four year old there. I very much enjoyed my smoked salmon and spinach omelette. It was perfectly cooked. My son had fish and chips and thought it was a little pricey for what one got. Fish was fine although he wasn’t a fan of the Portuguese spice rub on the chips but when I mentioned it to the waitress she advised next time to say just want plain chips. She said most people enjoyed the taste of them. Service was good.

A place you might not even know was here unless you're a local or visiting the oval for a game - but one definitely worth visiting! Great views outside, as well as the opportunity to peek inside the sporting arena if you wish.Great service (super friendly and personable) and fresh food. My mum and I both had the smoked tofu wrap (delicious!) whilst my boyfriend ordered the southern fried chicken burger - which the chef had "experimented" with (recipe wise) for his own lunch only a few moments earlier (changing it up slightly from the usual he served) and it was fab!Even though I'm Aussie and a huge cricket fan, it took me awhile to figure out the meaning behind the name of the cafe. Silly, silly me - such a great name!!
