La Sorgente - Civitella casanova

We visited this lovely restaurant on a Wednesday evening, the place was full with locals and after tasting the food we know why. We didn 't know that they do not accept credit cards so hubby had to drive back down the mountain, both the staff and clients were very helpful, one man even offered to drive himself! We had a traditional starter, bread, cheese and crudo ham, followed by pasta, gnocchi, pizza and Arrosticini! The food was delicious, the house wine for €2 for half a litre was lovely, we finished with home made tiramisu that dos not disappoint! Overall a fab meal, under €60 for a family of four. Highly recommended!

We visited this restaurant twice on our visit to Abruzzo and it had been recommended by the owner of the house that we were staying at. It is a family owned restaurant and serves all of the typical dishes that you would expect to find in this region of Italy. The staff are very friendly and although it is seemingly situated in the middle of nowhere, by 9pm on a Sunday evening, the place was packed with locals coming to eat which is about as good as it gets. We ate the house antipasti which contained delicious hot and cold selections of meat and vegetable dishes. The pasta selection is also home made and plentiful! They serve the traditional Lamb Arrosticini, which you can order by the skewer, along with a super selection of grilled meats, I can especially recommend the steak which will be the most amazing steak that you have ever eaten. It's enormous and cooked to absolute perfection on the grill! We really enjoyed eating here and the outside seats have a lovely view over the surrounding Abruzzo hills. Well worth a visit if you happen to be in this particular area of the Pescara province but open Thursday-Monday only.

A truly down to earth place simple setting with plastic tables and chairs in the yard, hearty welcome and tasty food at low prices. We‘d go back any time!
