Contribuiți la feedbackI ordered a takeaway this evening, which included 12 pieces of nigiri and other items. When I got home and tried to eat it right away, I was disappointed to find that some of the rice in the nigiri was undercooked or uncooked, making it unpleasant to eat. I called the takeaway/restaurant to address the issue, but the person who answered gave me the usual excuses, saying that I was the only one with a complaint and that the chef insisted there was nothing wrong with the rice. It was frustrating to learn that the manager wouldn't be back until next Monday (today is Tuesday). It seems like they just don't care about customer feedback. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
We have ordered takeout sushi from this restaurant a few times and it has always been delicious. The fish is very fresh and the service is excellent - quick and efficient.
I ordered from Atariya Sushi Bar through Deliveroo and was extremely disappointed. The quality of the food was poor and the delivery was messy. One out of the four items I ordered was missing and there was no soy sauce included. Additionally, there were no chopsticks provided. Overall, I would not recommend Sushi Bar Atariya, as it does not live up to its high Deliveroo rating of 93%.
I am a fan of Atariya chain and always go there for my sushi. Fairfax Road, the recently close Hendon, Golders Green as well as this James st branch are my destination. However, today's experience will definitely make me stop coming to the James st sushi bar for sure. I ordered 8 type of sushi to take away. Came around lunch time, I understand that it would take some time to prepare my order. After waiting for more than one hour and regularly checked my order, surprisingly at the very last minute they finally told me that the black cod sushi was not available! The rest of the order were already laying there for some time and no further reason why they didn't realize that the black cod was missing. Although I got my refund, the thing that made me angry was the way they discussing (or argumenting) about the missing order in front of me, the customer which shows lack of communication between staff. And when the cashier asked the chef whether she should gave a complimentary edamame, the chef firmly said NO. I did not beg for anything, just a simple sorry and good gesture from them but witnessing this cleary shows their lack of knowledge how to act in front of customers. The food itself was also disappointing, small size of sushi roll with very little filling, comparing to other Atariya chain although the price was more expensive. They might get lots of customer each day due to their great location, but definitely is losing loyal customer like me who will definitely not coming back in the future.
Well, I never did get my super deluxe chirashi don. I went in just before noon, there was no queue, so I ordered the chirashi don. This takes a fairly long time to prepare, so if there is a queue, it takes too long, so I order something else instead. Three sushi chefs, no one doing anything. So I thought it was safe to order. Shortly thereafter, some other people came in and ordered the same. So the chef decided to mass produce 5 chirashi don, while the other two sushi chefs stood around and did nothing. Twenty minutes later, he was still working on his Ford Assembly Line. Fun! So I got a refund and left. Is this the time to mention that the super deluxe chirashi don has shrunk over the years, and the price has gone up? Sad, cause I used to go to this place weekly.
