The Last Piece - City of Knox

Book this restaurant 6 weeks in advance for special 12.30 clock lunch with friends. there were 4 of us. Nice eating. 2.00 clock we were presented with the bill (we did not ask for it). we all had incomplete drinks and were not ready. to go. I said why, I don't want the bill yet? warter said this is a session, I said there was no mention of it when I booked or when we arrived. she said we decided today because we are so busy. they gave us no choice but to go. we would have had sweets, we had coffee. very disappointing. my friends and I met for the first time in weeks and came from all victoria to have our lunch abruptly finished. I hope the next table in the door was worth this review.

On the big picture to get a order wrong is not the biggest drama of the world, in which possibly did a 2/10 best. However, if they get it wrong almost every time in the last five plus years, they finally decide. to spend money elsewhere. would be so nice to have even 50% of the time a good experience, because we would love to be our local caffe, but now bored. they can't manage to get simple orders right so we choose with our feet.

I enjoyed this week a beautiful meal. I had the crab and the risotto, that was one of the specialties of the day. my friend enjoyed a toastia.

The service was not the best, but good enough. they had to ask for everything how water, utensils etc. eating was really bad. most came soggy and it didn't taste good at all. the brot was also burned at the top and not worth its time overall.

Despite the poor reviews we decided to try The Last Piece for lunch today. I booked online received txt confirmation. On arrival there was hand sanitiser QR code on the table. The tables were spaced it felt Covid safe. we were sitted...inside and it was a little noisy, I'd ask for an outdoor table next time. Water menus were delivered as soon as we sat down our order was taken as soon as we were ready, approx 5mins. I counted 6 front of house staff. My partners Smashed Avo was generous tasty although the bread was a little soggy. My salad with haloumi was also good. The menu is different to what's on their webpage. We would visit again as there's other items on the menu we'd like to try.
