Walnut Grill - Chesterfield

We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. There were many items on the menu that they were out of, our server was switched midway through the meal, and there were several issues with our meals. Additionally, we found that it was not very kid-friendly. Overall, it was not a great experience for us.

The food was great! The server did very well for being brand new. However, I made a reservation online and got a confirmation email; it was nowhere in the restaurant's records when we arrived. At 8:37 pm the person who was initially at the host stand walked over and asked if we wanted anything else because the kitchen was closing...and this was on a Saturday night. I just checked the hours to make sure I didn't have unrealistic expectations; the posted hours show it's supposed to close at 10 pm. I'm sure there were things going on behind the scenes, but being rushed out at 8:37 on a Saturday was not acceptable.

This was our first time visiting the restaurant in Chesterfield. We frequent the Sunset Hills location often, but were not impressed with the quality at Chesterfield. We tried the Spedini, which was unfortunately very dry. Despite ordering it with the creamy sauce, we were served marinara instead. The waitress insisted that this was correct, but we didn't argue as we were in a rush to get to a concert. The restaurant was busy and the waitress was pleasant, but we were overall disappointed with our meal. Our friends, who were also first-time visitors, had a similar experience with the dry Spedini. On a positive note, the brussel sprouts were excellent.

Food was great, service friendly but a little slow.

Everything was mediocre at best. Not like the closed Walnut Grill on Clarkson road.
