Hench's Oxbrook Foodery - Charlestown

Hench's is a diamond in the rough- it's not everyday a cute little eatery is sitting in the middle of farmland. That being said, it's worth the detour off of the main road- it's literally operating out of someone's house-turned-restaurant, but don't worry, it doesn't look like that on the inside. In fact, the decor is adorable and kitschy in a good way! The menu is small and simple, but the food is out of this world amazing. Everything on my plate tasted fresh, and you can tell Keith cooks each dish with love and care. This is a cozy, laid back no rush kind of place, so sit down, relax, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy the atmosphere. And like I said, this place is really out of the way! Pleeeeaaasseeeee stop by so it can remain in business! (Don't worry, I'm not a paid spokesperson, I just REALLY like this place.

My mom and I saw an ice cream sign today and turned down the road. Found theism diamond in the rough..so worth it..waitress was super friendly. We shred a Reuben quesadilla and poutine. We still weren't able to finish the enormous 12 quesadilla or fries.. Just wish they had burgers on the menu....will be back

A true hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pop, locally owned restaurant; Hench's holds no pretenses. With unique, but traditional, American fare, they're honest about what they bring to the table (excuse the pun). A lot of effort was clearly taken in decorating and creating this restaurant, and it doesn't stop there. Every menu item I've had the chance to try has been delicious and carefully crafted. Hench cooks the food himself while also supplying his customers with plenty of his outgoing personality. I suggest coming in early and trying one of his many superb breakfast sandwiches, or swing by for lunch and try a Reuben-dog, throwing back to Hench's origin as a hotdog stand further down Route 12.

A little out of the way, but worth the effort to find. hench's is a diner type place with usual hours for diners. open early, close early afternoon. been there a few times now, and love the food and different décor. I go out to eat for a good meal at a good price and this is it. not upscale, but has a comfortable feel, and the owners are very welcoming. unique tables and seats, along with the old time feel add to the experience. love the barrel seats. want to take one home, if it was on the menu. support this local mom and pop business, and not get a mc,something breakfast sandwich. you won't be disappointed.
