There is a good selection of dishes a wide selection of beer and brewing cozy environment. Look at the huge sword on the wall! I am surprised that it is not one of these places where, when you wear a tie, they cut it off and hold it on the ceiling! I expect that! It is very unforgettable experience. I understand that the reservations now, it was formerly you only immersed, but they have a nice deck so that you can eat outside too.
The service was great. No complaints, even if they only work a waiter at the time. With all the good reviews I thought the food would be excellent. It was good. The beers were good. I got the beef cake and my S/O got the Auld Reekie stew. The food was cooked very homestyle, but it also tasted somewhat simple; nothing was really remarkable that out of the courts. If you are a fan of light tasting food, you might really like this place. Maybe we have the wrong dishes.
This is the fairest rating I can write.... we were recently in Chester, VT and ate here both nights and reservations both nights - definitely a reservation!! The food, the beer, the atmosphere are all top notch- I can't blame anything on these fronts! We had such a great experience in the first night that we made a reservation for the second night of our trip. The second night... started well... but we waited long for order. I wasn't really interested at the time, they were obviously busy and short employees, and I thought... "I'm not in any special hurry, I'm on vacation." If I had known how the evening would end, I would have rejected the staff who insisted on ordering immediately. We had a great meal with great drinks and decided that we would only bring their amazing sticky great pudding for desert the bill and said that the next reservation would be there in 10 minutes and that we had to go. This policy has actually not disturbed me - it is quite popular, but normally you are told before you sit down that you are limited to 90 minutes and it should be a grace time when the waiting staff is responsible for you because they are very slow. In addition, there was a table of regular guests next to us, who ordered a few drinks, never ordered food and were allowed to be there all night while they pushed out the tourists as soon as possible. For this reason, we will never go back again, I understand that the regulars are important, but it does not feel very nice to be treated as a tourist in this way.
I'm glad we found the Scottish Pub of MacLaomainn and tried. My wife had beef cake she bite me and it was wonderful. I had a delicious frying sandwich. And our 7-year-old enjoyed his PB J sandwich. Very comfortable and welcoming inside. A bit of a car from home, but we will definitely go back. I recommend calling for a reservation.
Love the Scottish theme from the decor, food choices, beers, cider and staff in kilts. They have outdoor deck and cosy indoor seating. We have been here a few times and always enjoyed tasty food. Remember to save room for dessert.
