Muddy Water Coffee - Charleston

The staff at the register could have been more welcoming. The latte I had was delicious, but I actually ordered a caramel macchiato. I didn't really taste it until I reached the last third of the cup. On the plus side, it seems to be organic and wasn’t overly sweet like Starbucks drinks. The highlight, though, was definitely the artisanal cinnamon pop tart, which was fantastic!

Muddy Waters is a fantastic spot to spend some time in the James Island area. I ordered an iced chai latte while my partner chose a hot lavender honey latte and a gluten-free protein peanut butter bar. The drinks are comparable to those at other local cafes and surpass what you typically find at commercial chains. My chai was smooth with just the right amount of warmth, and his latte was rich and creamy. The woman at the counter was not only exceptionally kind but also efficient; she made sure to check in on us when the café experienced a loss of internet, just to see if we were affected too. The café features a variety of local artists, including painters, jewelers, and printmakers, creating a vibrant and artsy atmosphere filled with artwork. Many of the pieces are for sale, which is wonderful to see as local businesses support local talent.

Among all the coffee shops we've visited, Muddy Waters stands out as exceptional. The atmosphere is delightful, and the service is quick. I highly recommend the Americano, vanilla cinnamon latte, and chai. Plus, there's ample parking available. I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10!

One of the best coffee experiences I've ever had. Macrons were made perfectly and that is rare to find. Cold brew wasn't acidic and was very smooth

My lavender honey latte tasted like latte flavored water and my blackberry scone had a brown clearly expired blackberry in it and tasted stale/old. I should have been turned off by the fly in the pastry case but it’s been a hungry morning
