Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Chapel Hill

I was excited to see a Tropical Smoothie open in town, but unfortunately, my visit did not go as planned. The restaurant has chosen to continue enforcing a mask mandate, despite it being repealed in other places for several weeks. Upon arrival, the staff asked me to wear a mask or order from the outside window. While I understand it is their decision as an independent business, their lack of willingness to provide a mask was disappointing. The unfriendly interaction and strict policy may explain why the restaurant was empty during dinner time. I hope they reconsider their approach and make masks available for customers who need them. I will happily return when I see a sign indicating that masks are provided upon request.

I really enjoy Tropical Smoothie Cafe! I tried a Sunrise Sunset smoothie with whey protein powder and it was delicious. I also ordered an All American Wrap and a Tropical Teriyaki Flatbread, which were both amazing. I recommend visiting this cafe for breakfast and lunch options!

I was thrilled to see this new restaurant open in Chapel Hill. It's my favorite place for smoothies. I have been here twice. The first time, we ordered and received the worst tasting smoothies I have ever had from any tropical smoothie location. Because of this, we didn't go back for a while. We decided to give them another chance after ensuring they had resolved any issues and properly trained their staff. However, it was difficult to find parking on Franklin Street, so I was happy to see that they offered curbside delivery through their mobile app. Unfortunately, this was a mistake. It seems that they do not actually offer curbside delivery. I waited outside for 10 minutes and called them three times to let them know I was there. On my last call, they told me they never received my order and that I would need to come inside to speak to someone to sort it out. I had to park down the block and walk in, which would not normally be a big deal but was inconvenient on this particular day. When I entered, my order was waiting in the pick-up area for to-go orders, but the smoothies were watery from sitting there for about 15 minutes. No one apologized or offered to remake them. We will not be returning to this location, as it appears they are unable to maintain the same quality as other locations.

I always love this Cafe for the quality ingredients in their smoothies and you cannot beat the Great price. But today I had a cheese sandwich and it was out of this world good!!!! Service was great as always. And it's located in a nice area with other shopping available all around it.

Really enjoying the smoothies here! The GM (I think her name is Kim? is really unpleasant rude and short with customers. The rest of the staff has been really nice, though, and the smoothies have been delicious so far!
