Hawthorne Wood - Chapel Hill

LOVE LOVE LOVE and LOVE again. I have been here twice. The first time just for drinks at the bar. The second time we had the full dinner experience and it did not disappoint! We made reservations for a Saturday night. The restaurant called to confirm. We had no issues being seated once we arrived. Immediately we were told the staff shares tips so everyone is available to help. I was happy to hear their sharing environment. Every dish we ordered we loved!! Let’s go through them all! Fried Olives- unique and delicious BBQ Shrimp- 5 stars! Scallops- the presentation alone was amazing and then the taste was off the roof. Sweet Potato Croquette- HANDS DOWN AMAZING! It made me want to go vegetarian. It had lots of flavor. I ate it slowly so I could experience it longer. Chocolate Cake- perfect way to end the evening. I didn’t even mention the great drinks. If you are on the fence- leap over it and try this place! I promise, you’ll love it.

Two words: Absolutely amazing. I had the sweet potato croquettes with brussel sprouts and it's hands down one of the best vegetarian plates I've ever had.

Absolutely lovely experience! Service was amazing. Our server had a large party of maybe 15 people arrive after we had started our service and yet he always managed to remain attentive to our food (and even water refill) needs. The atmosphere is clean and classy. The food delicious and presentation beautiful. Wonderful idea for a date night or business meeting.

-Absolutely AMAZING menu. I’ve yet to have a single item I wouldn’t try again. Everything we’ve tried has always left us in awe of Chef’s talent. -Service is ALWAYS superb… which is such an integral part of the experience -Cocktail/Bar program is FANTASTIC with a wide variety of unique options plus tried-and-true classics Kudos to H&W. So happy to have a gem like this in Chapel Hill. THANK YOU!

Wonderful atmosphere! The food is elegant, light, and delicious. The Chef is to be commended because it’s evident his heart is in what he’s doing!! I can’t say enough about the food!! EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!! The entire wait staff is outstanding, especially our server, he was outstanding. He definitely added to the overall wonderful experience!!! I highly recommend this restaurant. Fine dining at its best. 5-star all the way!!
