Steam City Grill - Cerritos

My Facebook friends can attest that I've frequently shared my passion for chili cheeseries in various status updates since 2009. Despite my attempts to restrain my cravings, I have yet to give in to something as indulgent as a tub of melted cheese until tonight. Before indulging, I did some research to ensure the heart attack would be worth it. I called Steam City Grill to confirm they had steak fries; I wasn't interested in thin ones. "We have 3/4-inch fries," they replied. Perfect! I was on my way! As I rushed to my truck, I imagined the chili blanketing the shredded cheese atop the crispy, spiced fries. Oh. My. Goodness. When I arrived, I introduced myself: "Hi, I’m the chili cheese lover." The staff asked if I wanted ranch dressing—talk about a mind reader! I requested extra toppings with chopped onions, and they quickly accommodated. Oh. My. Word. Once I got home, the cheese was perfectly melted, and I couldn’t believe my eyes at the colossal, filled container brimming with about one billion calories of pure joy. They even included napkins and two sturdy plastic forks (how thoughtful!). I have zero regrets about this feast. The cheese was a delicious combination of cheddar and jack, while the chili was beautifully spiced and savory. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just like a baked potato. In the end, I tossed aside a quarter of the fries, and now my sweatshirt is feeling a little snug. Thank you for this delightful experience!
