Cotton Patch Cafe - Cedar Hill

We visited Cotton Patch for the first time and found it to be a lovely, clean establishment. Our waitress was friendly and pleasant, though she appeared a bit distracted by her interactions with other staff members. Despite that, we had a positive experience overall and will definitely return.

I wanted to enjoy one last meal before leaving the city, so I decided to go to Cotton Patch with my mother, who is a big fan of the place. I've only been there once before, but after this experience, I would definitely come back. We both ordered the fried catfish and shrimp combo, which included two sides and a choice of a roll or cornbread. We opted for the rolls, and I chose green beans and corn as my sides. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the only bone I found was a tiny piece among all the fillets. The shrimp were also delicious, especially with the cocktail sauce. Overall, this was one of the best meals I've had at a chain restaurant, particularly in terms of catfish, especially considering the price!

The quality at Cedar Hill has really declined. I recently tried a new dish, the beef tips, and I was disappointed. The beef pieces were tiny and had a texture that reminded me of dog food. The maize cake only earned them two stars from me.

Great food. Terrible service. The whole environment was very inadequate. Many employees stand around and do nothing. It was as if there was absolutely no management, so no one was motivated to give good service. We waited incredibly long to take place (it was 9 a.m. on a Monday evening and was NOT busy the least). When they finally acknowledged the waiting, they went very unchalantly to a table for us (there were many dirty tables waiting to be driven). They removed the dirty dishes, and then plagued with some staff, then washed the table, then with some staff again, then finally and finally we sit on a soaking wet table. When we asked for a towel to dry the table itself, they came very slowly with paper napkins and ran their hands over about 1/3 of the table. It was a moment of the twilight zone. I have never seen how such a thing is not important, all go around half sleep overall environment. We love Cotton Patch, but not this special (our first time in this place).

Stopped in for lunch, great as always. Had Strawberry Pecan salad. Guest had Chicken Fried Brisket. He said leave that deep fried food to the County Fair ?!
