Yama Lzakaya Sushi - Carrollton

We were looking for a place to have a late night snack after a show at the Majestic. Remembered this place on our way home. loved it. sushi is amazing. service is great. we will be back often.

The food was decent. There was not much flavor or anything special. The only dish I enjoyed was the udon noodle dish with shrimp and their sauce that tasted like Alfredo. Aside from that, I'm not a fan.

Overall a decent Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was good and the owner is Japanese (according to my research). The Nabeyaki Udon was fantastic, which is why bumped to 3 stars, however the Kara Age (Japanese fried chicken) was a bit bland and the flesh was dry. Unfortunately not moist at all. The Yakitori (chicken skewers) were average if not a tad dry. The pork belly and chicken skin skewers were slightly better than average. They do have Asahi on draft (meaning it's brewed in Japan and imported) so that was pleasantly surprising. It's worth a visit because if the Udon noodle soup broth is that good, the assumption is there are other dishes just as tasty. Just be prepared to get some dishes that may be disappointing.

FOOD 10/10 everything was amazing ,However I can see why they’re rated so low . . Probably the WORST customer service I’ve experienced in a while , we waited about 15 minutes before I had to go FIND our server , after our order was taken and food came out we were never checked On for drink refills , except when we asked for our checks .I will return for the food , but the service needs ALOT of work . . The food is the only reason they even got 3 starts service would have been a 1 .

I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time recently, and I was really looking forward to it! The sushi was fantastic—perfectly filled and rolled. We tried several shrimp dishes, and they were impressive as well. However, I found the chicken skin skewer a bit disappointing; it was quite small and a bit tough. Other than that, everything was excellent. The prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu! I also loved the restaurant's atmosphere, with fun movie posters like Godzilla and adorable origami birds hanging from the entrance ceiling. What a charming touch!
