Weeping Thaiger - Carlow

Went her with the Mrs and son in law on Saturday evening and the place was empty (realised later why it was empty on a bank holiday Saturday) we ordered 2 pad that's (1 vegetarian 1 mixed) and Mrs got beef noodle thing (I forgot the name) we also got mixed fried veg and a plate of chips for sharing. Absolutely everything was disgusting, asked the lovely waitress (2 thai women, they were great) to please ask the chef to fix the fried veg because it was like a soup, pure watery, she brought it back exactly the same just hotter from the microwave. Chips where the cheap cardboard frozen chips you get for like €3 for a 10kg bag. My Mrs could only force down about 1/4 of her noodles before she felt sick, same with the son-in-law I managed to finish most of mine (deeply regretted that later) none of us could touch the mixed veg or chips at all they were that bad. I paid and we left almost everything, €74 for absolute garbage. The bit my Mrs forced down came up in the garden, I wish I could have been so lucky. We'll NEVER go back there again, and judging by how empty it was, i think many others had a similar experience. Absolutely terrible food and ripped off. Never again.

I've ate Thai food in a lot of European countries, the best being The Bird in Amsterdam, the most mediocre The Weeping Thaiger in carlow. I ordered the green curry and pad thai for takeaway/collection the green curry was pretty tasteless, and the pad thai was just a clump of soggy noodles with some peanuts sprinkled over them. This place definitely was a disappointment.

My cousin and I ate at this restaurant recently during mid may…. To say we were disappointed is an understatement…. Firstly the restaurant looks tired and run down… now fact a lot of places suffered during the pandemic but this place I’m afraid was unclean… now cleanliness in any restaurant is paramount and even more so after what the world has recently been through….. tables a tad sticky, cutlery well not properly washed, marks on the wall their mirrors which are quite big on their walls were very grubby an obvious not seen a cleaning in quite a while… now to the food, extremely mediocre, overcooked some hot some cold…. This restaurant was once a extremely very good place to eat with non of the above problems they seem to now have …. We left very disappointed in our choice of restaurant that evening and hasten to add will definitely not be returning any time soon or if ever…..

Food was nice enough, ambience, decor, cleanliness was not great. Place needs a big clean and revamp. Walls could do with some type of art, very bland otherwise. Staff could be a little more friendly and show an intrest, one older member of staff was very dour. Staff uniforms could do with cleaning.

Use to be great before the new management. Starters are obviously bought in frozen, mains are frozen and reheated. Very disappointing to see how it has went down hill so much
