Peanut - Carbondale

My wife and I had been eager to try this restaurant for over a year. We stopped by for a drink, and the bartender, who was busy serving other tables, kindly said, "I’ll be right with you." As someone who has worked in hospitality, I understand how hectic it can be when you're short-staffed, so I was fine waiting for another ten minutes. However, when my wife went to use the bathroom and returned, she informed me that there was no soap available for handwashing. We decided to leave. It was disappointing, as that’s a basic expectation for any establishment. I’m giving one star for the experience, but I will give five stars for the atmosphere because the inside looks fantastic—the bar and setup are really impressive. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

We order takeout from this place every few weeks, and it's always a great experience. The restaurant is consistently clean, the staff is very friendly, and the food is always delicious. It’s a real gem, especially since there aren't many good dining options in the area. I highly recommend trying the Butter Onion Pierogies, Buffalo Wings, and Homemade Pierogies.

Great atmosphere, great food, not so great with customer service during nightlife. One of the best pool tables in the area, but don't expect to be immediately welcome if you're an outsider. There's alot of men willing to fight over nothing there and little to no security, so in my recent searches for a new local bar this establishment scores 3/5. If they were more welcoming and less abrasive in deescalation techniques I'd see that up to a maximum of 4/5.
