Contribuiți la feedbackThe food was excellent, the price for the entree's were ok. The bar had a selection of New York bourbons, I would have preferred more variety but this is a place for New York sourced items.
The experience was very good. The food was great and prepared and presented with imagination. The wine selection was very nice as well. Service was excellent. Servers had good knowledge and treated us well, willing to suggest and recommend when asked. The waiting times for service were near perfect. The intervals between servings were good. The prices are on the high side in our opinion; however, they were not over the top for what we received overall.
In the spirit of helping NYK improve: Poor (no) signage so we didn 't know where to parking in the large area on 3 sides of the building. Once out of the car, no visible entrance (it is around front, not visible from the parking area) and closest door we tried was Emergency Exit Only. Walked all the way around the building in a cold wind. Found the door, yay! Big beautiful building, gorgeous! No one at podium in front of door. I paused, wondering where to go ... staff on far right at another podium said Here to eat? It 's upstairs! So I hustled upstairs. Hostess had our reservation. And waved us to a table across the room without leaving the podium. There were about six empty tables in the direction of her wave. We guessed right, luckily! The table was visibly sticky. No placemats. Our waitress Amanda was super, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive! The menu has a great selection of sandwiches and some pizzas and appetizers, and truly the food was very good. Weird that no farm sources are mentioned in any item description, I wanted more of that information. There are Campbell 's Soup posters as the sole wall art in the restaurant. I get the nod to Warhol, but these were not that. Seems a weird choice in a restaurant branding itself as the headquarters of New York State farm-to-table fare. Downstairs we wanted to explore the tasting room and classrooms. On a Friday in early November, though, nothing was going on, and it was deserted. The tasting room was a disappointment, small and mostly wine. The website describes shopping and products from all over NYS. No one offered me a taste or sample of anything, although I asked questions and spent $40 on small spirits bottles and novelty cork lights.
Good service, food was OK but nothing special. Had cast iron pork few apples and onions no potatoes or vegtables? No bread or rolls or salad to begin with. On the pricy side $10 for a glass of wine? Can get whole bottle at my local liquor store! Would probably not to back.
It's difficult to satisfy my vegan wife but she was very happy with her entree. My club sandwich with delicious chips was also good.
