Contribuiți la feedbackEverything was wonderful: the food, the service, everything...but, there was a very raucous, very loud, large group that was outrageous in their behaviour. I couldn't tell if anyone from the restaurant attempted to mitigate at all, so I'm not finding fault except with the very obnoxious and clamorous group themselves. They were a distance from our table, but nevertheless, we all had to literally shout to each other in order to be heard. That was a downside, to be sure.
Bottom line up front: this place is expensive. My wife and I went for her birthday. It was our first time and they suggested the tasting menu. They also suggested the wine pairing menu. I was driving so my wife did the pairing. It was about a seven course meal, made to perfection. Each dish was great, small but great. With a tasting menu, you get a small portion of many dishes. I had a sip of the wines and they were outstanding; especially the Chablis, which was a pleasant surprise (steel aged). The desserts (yes, plural) were next level greatness. Great food, great service, great presentation. Pruneyard parking on a Saturday is always a challenge but we lucked out. This dining experience takes a while; we had 5PM reservations and finished at 7:30PM. Summary: loved it, expensive, we will return.
Service definitely needs improvement as servers seemed to be overwhelmed and too busy for our table of 3 people. They didn't come check on our table regularly, for a pretty upscale restaurant like this, that should be given? Our server was too stressed or too busy and wasn't very nice with our questions and requests , a few times his unprofessional response and attitude really made me feel so embarrassed with my friends when I was the one who highly recommended the restaurant and brought them there to celebrate our birthdays. Providing a happy positive attitude to the diners should be more important than serving a good meal? Not to mention the appetizers and sides for our steak were sort of disappointing. The bone-in-ribeye was the only thing we all really enjoyed. The Wagyu trio was not as good as other similar restaurants we've been to. The final bill was at least $550 for 3 people so thought we could have received a better service and food. Our server finally became nicer at the end when it's less busy plus it's time for the check and tips, ha!
I've been to this restaurant twice for dinner and the service and food were overall excellent. I heard a lot about their brunch and how exceptional it was because they included caviar as part of the food choices. My friends and I wanted to experience brunch so we came to try it out. While the brunch choices were great on the day I went with my friends, there was no caviar and the food choices really didn't stand out. For the cost to be as much as it was, the food was typical of what you would find elsewhere. Hands down, I would recommend this place for dinner however for brunch, you can probably find a more affordable place to go.
The food was fantastic and our waiter (Bob) was very helpful with his descriptions regarding how the items were prepared. We ordered a chateaubriand steak which truly was one of the best steaks I've eaten. While the menu and wine list is very pricey, it was worth every bite! We will be back.......
