Match Eatery Public House

Last time that we will visit!Went in on a Tursday with the half price wing special for a pound of wings. I doubt that it was more than half a pound and was served without napkins or anything else. I sent them back and went home to cook dinner. If their scale is accurate I would love to get on it and lose about 75 pounds. The manager we spoke to should be looking for a different line of work.

Went with some friends to celebrate an engagement. A man in a party seated next to us (you can imagine what he looked like based on my description of his behaviour) began to provoke us due to the way we were seated which was arranged by the restaurant. He began to use incredibly insulting, vulgar and violent language that was directed towards the women in our party. He was yelling, so everyone, including management, could hear, and yet management did absolutely nothing for twenty minutes. Our party, which had done nothing wrong and avoided escalating the situation, was moved inside the restaurant. This is not how you do customer service. Someone representing the restaurant should have been there immediately and demanded that this man leave. The food is fine, but I can make these dishes in the comfort of my own home at half the price and not be harassed and provoked by awful people. We all go to restaurants for the ambience and to socialize, not for the food. I will not spend any more of my money in a place that treats its customers with such disregard and looks the other way when women are being harassed and verbally attacked by men.

After a long day we ordered takeout from Match. Meal was fine overall, ribs were a generous portion, tacos and mac and cheese were fairly standard. Filled our need for food, nothing really stood out though.

We waited 50 mins for our meals and it wasn’t busy (maybe it was a staff shortage but I can’t be sure). The burger I had was tasty but very small for what I paid. Dirty fries were also tasty but it also had a small portion. My friend bought a pizza and it was paper thin (he even held it up for proof, I should have taken a picture). Almost no toppings and the cheese wasn’t even visible. They cal it an “artisan” pizza but I’ve tried artisan pizzas at other restaurants and this wasn’t it. Their cocktails were good though.I’ve had other items on the menu that were better. Be careful what you buy here.

The atmosphere on the patio was awesome, our server Winter took fantastic care of us.
