Simple Simon Pies - Calgary

We picked up a dozen frozen small pies so we could bake them and take them over to our son'd house for dinner, along with some salads. This is a real treat for the Grandkids as they get to select the flavour of their own choice. All the pies here are very tasty. We had a wonderful dinner together.

The pies are gross. The filling comes from a bucket and the dough is made out of shortening. I can guarantee anyone who likes these pies have never had a good homemade pie in their life. Terrible. Can't believe they make money off this.

Slurry mess. Does not resemble French heritage or Acadian heritage. Would not recommend. For the spend I believe there are better options. High in sodium.

I just recently discovered this place. It instantly became one of favourite spots on 17 ave. Since then I have visited it almost every week. The pies and soups are always so tasty. I liked all the food that they have and I almost tried everything. My fav pies are yammy Swiss Chicken Mushroom and a little spicy Jamaican Curry. I also like their amazing blueberry muffin with cup of hot coffee. It is my favourite place for weekend lunch or brunch. I like the fact that dishes they offer are healthier choice comparing to fried food. I was surprised how affordable this place. I bought soup with garlic bread, two pies and blueberry muffin for only 15$. The folks who work there always so friendly and welcoming! To sum up - delicious food and great service!

Tried the borscht. Is was a thick goop.....yes it was red and tat it was...we tried the thI soup as wel..lota of fat blobs rather than chicken..second time finding this and why I am writing the review..quailty is down..it isnot the same home made soup level it used to be.
