Bread Circus Trattoria - Calgary

There were some very bold and interesting menus on bread and circus. We had a hearty summer pea pana cotta, peaches and buratta, pork medallions served cold with a tuna aioli for beginners. They play in a unique way with texture and taste. The gnocchi was much easier with a fresh tomato sauce and wonderful ricotta. We also had the Carbonara that was good, but a very strong Jocharoma I didn't get back. The wine list is quite good and they also let you order the Frenchie menu that increases the selection. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. I'd definitely go back.

A small intimate dining area between UNA Takeaway and Frenchie Bar. The great draw for me is her Cacio e Pepe Pasta - you can observe how they are the pasta in the great wheel of Pecorino. The Puttanesca on Toast is also amazing. The garlic bread is not your typical restaurant garlic bread, but it was incredibly light, soft and tasteful. I would recommend this place for a special quiet evening. Make a reservation!

We only thought $5.00 was a Happy Hour Negroni. It was excellent! We decided to have a dessert, so ordered the Zeppole Donuts to share again! Loved the choc ganache and the amazing donuts. We only sat at the bar, as we were not for dinner, had amazing service from the server and learned some things from the cook behind the bar. Next time we go to dinner.

Best Carbonara hands down! Andrew, my server was extraordinary. Also tried the parsnip ricotta custard canoli, such a unique dessert! Can't wait to be back.

I stopped by for a quick bite on Friday evening. I waited for 40 minutes at Una takeaway after being on a guest list the entire time. Finally, I got up to check the list as many people were leaving. It turned out they sat a table for 2 twice because they conveniently arrived instead of referring to the list. Once we sat down, the server was dismissive of our presence and was short with us even though her section wasn't full. We enjoyed our first drinks, but the server never came back until we asked for our bills and she offered a refill of water. The lasagna was extremely salty, which is unusual for me as I always finish my meal. I was very disappointed as I have followed them on Instagram for a while and had been looking forward to checking it out. I would recommend it if you are looking for good food with mediocre service.
