Contribuiți la feedbackWe decided to try out a new restaurant and we were not disappointed. The menu was extensive with plenty of options to choose from. The food was well-prepared and it was evident that pride was taken in every dish. We left feeling very satisfied and will definitely be returning. Next time, we are eager to try the boodle fight. The only downside was the service. There were a few large groups in the restaurant which seemed to get more attention than us. We had to constantly try to get the server's attention. Despite this, we plan on coming back and hope the service will be better next time.
This Filipino restaurant has become our favorite in the city. We love their boodle style dinner where a variety of dishes are placed on a tray and served family style. You can choose to eat with your hands or use utensils, it's up to you! The set dinner offers great value as you can customize it with the number of entrees you want. The more you choose, the higher the price. We've tried several entrees and they're all delicious with generous portions. Our favorites include Crispy Pata (deep-fried Pork Hock), Lechon Kawali (deep-fried pork belly), Pork Adobo (Filipino Pork Stew), and Pork BBQ on sticks. They also offer tasty seafood options. The set dinner includes unlimited rice, perfect for indulging. We've brought friends from different backgrounds who have all enjoyed the unique experience of eating with their hands. The service here is outstanding, making it the best Filipino restaurant in Calgary. Highly recommended!
There were four of us dining, so we ordered appetizers served on a "sungka" tray, which was a unique touch. The appetizers included salted egg, fried eggplant, tomato, atsara, and onion. For the main course, as I mentioned, everything was served on banana leaves with rice at the bottom. We had crispy pata (deep-fried pork legs), pork barbecue, spring rolls, and added chicken inasal. We also ordered side dishes like kwek kwek (deep-fried eggs), tokwat baboy (deep-fried tofu), sizzling sisig, and shrimp gambas. It was a lot of food! If you just order the boodle meal, it should be more than enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, although the chicken was a bit dry. The servers were friendly, which was appreciated by my adult children. We were so full that we didn't even have room for the halo-halo (iced shaved fruit dessert), but we will definitely try it next time. There is parking available, and we will definitely be back to this restaurant.
Went here to celebrate my parents anniversary. We ordered a “boodle fight” for people which cost around The feast included rice, tempura yam, salt egg and eggplant. We picked dishes that is included in the feast. We picked crispy pasta, BBQ pork...and fish. They divided the dish into groups of and there are plenty left over. I enjoyed the food and what a great Philippine tradition to experience. The plates are banana leaves and you can use your hand to eat or you can get utensils. There is a hand wash station or you can get plastic gloves. I’m pretty impressed and will be back again to bring my other friends to show the Filipino culture.
A few words of warning first. If you like bland fast food don't stop here. Lots of great flavours here. The chicken is bone in and fresh so watch for small bones if you order chicken. Also, if you need your server to cater to...you keep looking. Staff was friendly but they didn't pop back to see how the food was or anything. If you get this far you're in for a treat. The food was fresh and flavourful. I was actually quite surprised by the quality. The pork spring rolls may be the best I've had, and I ordered the Volcano which was actually quite spicy (perfect for me). Absolutely delicious. They have a lot of non-spicy items of course. As for price, I'd have to call this place inexpensive. I was stuffed when I left and my meal including a generous tip was only Wow.
