The Old Gate - Calderdale

Steak and lamb from specials board really good but sharing game dish from specials board not so good. Would go again and not choose game (bit tasteless plus very hard to share a small game bird. Should have been divided into two). Staff were excellent.

We dined al fresco on a sunny October day with temperatures in the low 20s and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was a pleasant surprise to have the young bar staff knowledgeable and able to guide us through the selection of beers on tap. We chose Vocation’s Golden Pale Ale and a Beck’s, along with a delicious salmon and prawn salad and the Fritto Misto, which featured perfectly fried seafood with the calamari being the standout. The food and service were both excellent.

Had a great meal last night . Seafood crumpet followed by Chicken and brownie for pudding. It was really good food and well presented. The staff were friendly and professional. I would certainly recommend this restaurant/pub to others.

This is a lovely pub to visit. We went for a late breakfast and I can honestly say they cook the best eggs Benedict I have ever tasted. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and the pub itself has a very relaxed atmosphere.

I had a Fab-Mahl here tonight with the family. great food and great service. would definitely recommend and will be back if I hopefully returned from earth again
