I opted for a slice of rhubarb pie, which brought back memories of the pies my grandmother used to make. You order at the counter.
Just trotting along the road for a walk to the Inny Tavern along the kerry way and spotted this lovely thathed cottage restaurant along the way with nice food and some beers on draft.
During our motor coach tour, we made a stop at this restaurant. It is a popular spot for group tours, located in a charming cottage serving delicious food, especially their scones. The restaurant also has a small gift shop and clean restrooms. Despite the busy atmosphere, they efficiently move the line, provide ample seating, and maintain the cozy and quaint ambiance of the cottage.
During our tour bus stop, we visited The Thatch Cottage for scones. The restaurant was bustling with a line out the door, but we were lucky enough to bypass the queue and secure a table. The scones were delicious and served warm with tea for 2 euros. I also noticed they offered Irish stew for 12 euros on the menu. After enjoying our scones, I browsed the souvenir shop and purchased a cute toy lamb, as our tour leader had mentioned the prices were very reasonable.
We were on a motor-coach tour in the Ring of Kerry area and stopped here for tea and scones. They had the best scones we tasted on our whole trip. Freshly made and just the right texture! I would love their recipe! Also a lovely gift-shop with good prices. Service was fast and pleasant. There was not anything not to like. My husband enjoyed it as well.
